Call for Volunteers
Equestrian Zone is a non-profit organization in Russellville, AR that provides equine therapy for people with disabilities. For each session that we provide to our special equestrians, we require two volunteers to assist with leading the horse and sidewalking with the rider. Equestrian Zone is seeking individuals that would like to give back to the community and help others in need. Volunteers are the backbone of a riding program for people with disabilities. Most of our patrons cannot ride without the physical, emotional, and psychological support of their volunteers. In our time-poor world, your donation of ONE HOUR per week will be the most precious commodity and truly make a difference for the riders we serve.
Volunteer Qualifications:
1. Be 14 years of age or older.
2. Completion of Equestrian Zone’s volunteer orientation session and a minimum of one additional training session annually.
3. Ability to communicate with instructor, therapist, other volunteers, and rider.
4. Physical and mental ability to support a rider in a crisis situation.
Equestrian Zone is open Monday through Thursday. If you are interested in helping this wonderful cause, PLEASE CALL EQUESTRIAN ZONE @ 479-970-9379.
Thank You
How You Can Help
As a nonprofit organization we rely heavily on the generosity of caring individuals and service groups. Opportunities for volunteering vary from assisting with horses and riders, to odd jobs or data entry, to helping with special events and fundraising activities. Willing hands and a warm heart are all that’s needed to make a huge and lasting impact on the lives of people with disabilities.
Rider fees cover only a small portion of program expenses, and while we vigorously pursue grant opportunities, we are always in need of donations to cover operating costs and to further our outreach.
